It’s moments like these that I wish I took a photo during my ride, or any part of my Saturday. I didn’t. Instead, I rode Big Red for many miles along the ocean, chatted with friends while dodging cars, ran in the wind, drove our Sprinter through canyons, nodded at the trailhead parking lot I see every Saturday that makes me happy and sad, because it is the site of the last morning I saw my friend Mary, and received the second to last of her amazing hugs.
Later I dropped Big Red off at my bike shop for a tune-up, (and new Garmin installation), swam for less than thirty minutes in the hopes the water would flush out my legs after riding well over thirty minutes, logged my workouts, made and consumed my signature green smoothie, ate almond butter on toast, raw mixed nuts, potato chips, a quinoa and sweet potato burrito from Trader Joe’s topped with an avocado, (of course), drank two glasses Sister Shrub, and watched a handful of random cooking shows. But I never captured a photo all day.
Still, it all happened. I promise.
The photo above is an old/teaser glimpse of what I will be doing today, (Sunday), outrunning my shadow in circles as fast as I can.
The song and video today on this very special, yet very strange Oscar Sunday, it is the winner for Best Song, 1998, Celine Dion’s, you know…
